A fruit-expressive Haut-Medoc with ripe, fresh and bright red berries from this dry and hot vintage. Generous and medium-bodied on the palate, showing lovely fluidity and firmness without any heaviness. 55% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot and 6% cabernet franc. Already appealing but better in two more years.

The 2022 Haut-Medoc de Giscours is a gorgeous, wonderfully inviting wine. Cinnamon, orange peel, cedar, white pepper, mint and chalk add lovely aromatic dimension. This is the first vintage with a dollop of Cabernet Franc in the blend, which really seems to open the aromatics. Time in the glass brings out the wine's fleshiness. This gracious, silky Haut-Medoc is an absolute delight.

The 2022 Haut-Medoc de Giscours has turned out very nicely, offering up aromas of sweet cassis, wild berries and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave and vibrant palate with good depth and persistence. Bottled in March-April 2024, this cuvee sees a reductive elevage that preserves all its fruit intact in the bottle.
