Beyond Distilling Company based in Charleston, South Carolina specializes in craft spirits such as bourbon, rum and gin including coconut and other tropical flavors. A new distillery possessing a social and environmental conscious vision aims to provide fulfilling employment for adults with disabilities.

Beyond Distilling was born from a simple idea: make great spirits in a place where everyone can take pride in their work. Founders Tyler LaCorata, Ryan Sadis, and Kerianne Krause came from very different backgrounds—but shared a vision of true inclusion, creativity, and quality.

Kerianne is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has spent over a decade working with adults with disabilities. She founded Building Independence Together (BIT) in Summerville, SC, which provides assent based services to children on the spectrum.

Tyler began his career in the culinary world, eventually working as a private chef in New York. A visit to a local distillery sparked a new passion—craft spirits. He immersed himself in the distilling world, honing his skills across New York and earning his first head distiller role on Long Island.

There, Tyler met Ryan, an electrician and musician who was ready for a new path. Tyler introduced him to the world of distilling, and the two quickly became creative partners, experimenting with recipes and dreaming up what would one day become Beyond Distilling.

In 2018, Kerianne approached Tyler and Ryan with an idea: what if they combined their love of spirits with a mission to create inclusive employment for adults with disabilities? The team knew they could do more than just make great drinks—they could make a difference.

They blended their talents: Kerianne taught Tyler and Ryan how to build inclusive workplaces, while they shared their knowledge of craft spirits. When Ryan moved to Charleston, he even worked at BIT and trained as a Registered Behavior Technician.

In late 2021, Beyond Distilling opened in North Charleston, SC, filling their space with 2000 barrels of whiskey crafted in New York and building a production facility designed for both creativity and accessibility.
